America’s Second Harvest “Katrina Relief Fund”

Hi Neighbors...Orleans resident David Roth here (okay, I’m a wash-ashore, but I married an Eastham girl ~ Tricia Duffy ~ and we moved back “home” in 2000). We wanted to help our fellow countrymen and women down south, so we’ve organized a concert to raise $$, and designated “America’s Second Harvest” as the recipient of our efforts...they’re the nation's largest hunger-relief organization based out of my other hometown of Chicago, distributing surplus food to more than 23 million hungry Americans each year, and they have a Katrina Relief fund, to which they’re applying 100% of all donations given directly to relief, 0% to administration.

For those who can’t make it to the concert that night (featuring many fine local musicians as well as others who are traveling a great distance to contribute their talents) I’m asking that checks payable to “America’s Second Harvest” and marked “Orleans for New Orleans” be sent to PO Box 495 ~ Orleans, MA 02653. I’ll get the final tally of our efforts and forward the monies to America’s Second Harvest by October 15th.
