Centerville, MA, December 1, 2005 - Lisa Hergenrother of Centerville has been named Executive Director of the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod (AFCC). The AFCC's Board, at its most recent meeting, appointed the new executive who brings nearly 15 years of experience in non-profit arts organization management to the organization. Mrs. Hergenrother joined the AFCC in June 2005 as its Associate Director, overseeing communications and program management. In September 2005, she was appointed Acting Director of the AFCC.

Ms. Hergenrother's previous work on the Cape includes three years as Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod's first Director of Resource Development and Communications. Prior to that role, she spent 15 years working for the Commonwealth's state arts council, the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC) and its predecessor agency, the Massachusetts Arts Lottery Council. During that period she served as Manager for the Communities Department where she oversaw a staff of six and the management of the Local Cultural Council (LCC) Program, the largest grass-roots arts program in the country that distributed $3.5 million to 351 cities and towns throughout the Commonwealth.

Lisa is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts/Boston with a B.A. in Art History. She is deeply committed to community service and is involved with the Hyannis Rotary Club, Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod, and the Osterville United Methodist Church. Lisa has lived on the Cape since 1997 and she currently resides in Centerville with her husband Bill Cartmill, and her two step-children, Lindsay and Brett.
