Spring 2006 Grant Deadline
Funding Available for Artists and Cultural Organizations
Centerville, MA, March 1, 2006 - The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod (AFCC), the designated local arts agency for Barnstable County, is pleased to announce the next grant cycle of 2006. Applications are now available for the AFCC spring grants cycle, which has a deadline of Monday, April 3.
The AFCC will hold a grants information workshop for interested applicants on Monday, March 13th at 5:30 p.m. at the AFCC offices in Centerville. Reservations are limited and space may be reserved by calling the AFCC at 508-362-0066 no later than Friday, March 10.
The AFCC Grants Program provides cash awards to local artists and cultural organizations that are engaged in projects that help create a strong, stable, and diverse arts and culture industry on Cape Cod, and contribute positively to the quality of life and economic vitality of the region. The AFCC distributed $55,000 to 40 individual artists and cultural organizations in fiscal year 2005. Grant funds are made possible by the proceeds of the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod’s annual Pops by the Sea concert.
Raphael Richter, General Manager of Shakespeare on the Cape in Provincetown and 2005 AFCC grant recipient, says that the AFCC grants program “truly embraces projects that propel new creative arts initiatives. Art on Cape Cod would not be the same without the Arts Foundation's generous support of new and groundbreaking projects."
Guidelines and application materials are available on the AFCC web site www.artsfoundation.org or by calling 508-362-0066.
The mission of the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod is to support, promote, and celebrate the arts and culture of Cape Cod, create a strong, stable, and diverse arts environment, and contribute to the quality of life and economic vitality of the region.
