Arts Foundation of Cape Cod Awards $32,500 in Grants
Funding Distributed to Local Artists and Cultural Organizations
Centerville MA, November 1, 2006 - The Board of Directors of the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2006 Fall Grant Awards. Nineteen local artists and cultural organizations will receive a total of $32,500 in grants at a special reception from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, November 16 at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown.
“The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod grant program provides critical support to both start-up ventures and expansions of existing programs,” said Lisa Hergenrother, Executive Director of the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod. “We are proud to provide significant financial support each year to the arts and culture community.”
“This year’s record level of grant awards is made possible due to the continued success of the TD Banknorth Pops by the Sea, the year-round support of our sustaining partner TD Banknorth, and our generous and dedicated sponsors and volunteers,” said Margaret Van Sciver, Arts Foundation of Cape Cod Board President. “Their support of our year-round programming allows the Arts Foundation to strengthen and promote the arts and culture of Cape Cod in such a meaningful way.”
The Fall 2006 Grant recipients and projects are:
Academy of Performing Arts, Kids in Motion dance program for Cape Cod 4th graders, $2,000

Cape Cod Museum of Art, ARTWORK catalogue for Art Internship Program, $2,200
Cape Cod Opera, Continue School Outreach Programs $3,000
capeAbilities, Collaboration with Creative Arts Center to provide artistic opportunities to those with disabilities, $1,200
Crawford, Candice, Interactive sculpture of MacMillan Pier during early 1900s, $825
Eventide Arts, Inc., Creative Voices songwriters' workshop and competition, $2,000
Falmouth Chorale, Educational lecture by expert on Giuseppe Verdi preceding each concert, $500
Falmouth Historical Society, Intergenerational poetry event honoring Katherine Lee Bates, $1,175
Harwich Junior Theatre, Portable lighting and sound system to facilitate touring productions and residencies, $2,800
Hyannis Main Street Business Improvement District,
Artscape Thursdays, a galleries and restaurant collaboration on Main Street in Hyannis, $2,500
Meeting House Chamber Music Festival, Promotion for series of five varied chamber music programs, $1,500
Payomet Performing Arts Charitable Trust, Intensive marketing for new location and programming, $1,500
Provincetown Theatre Foundation/New Provincetown Players,

Arts Foundation of Cape Cod grants are awarded to support projects that help create a strong, stable, and diverse cultural community on Cape Cod, and which contribute to the quality of life and economic vitality of the region.
