Centerville, MA, April 26, 2007 - The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod announced today that TD Banknorth has entered into an unprecedented multi-year sponsorship agreement to serve as a sustaining partner of the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod’s year-round programming, and as title sponsor of its primary fundraiser, the TD Banknorth Pops by the Sea concert. The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod will receive over $210,000 through 2009 as a result of the sustaining sponsorship from TD Banknorth.

The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod, Barnstable County’s designated local arts agency and Cape Cod’s only nonprofit umbrella organization for arts and culture, promotes the creative economy of Cape Cod through entrepreneurial training for local working artists, collaborative marketing programs for local arts and culture organizations, and financial support for individuals and organizations through a biannual grant program.

The TD Banknorth Pops by the Sea is the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod’s main fundraising event, an outdoor concert on the Hyannis Village Green that regularly draws up to 15,000 people and features the only Cape Cod appearance of the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra and conductor Keith Lockhart. The 22nd Annual TD Banknorth Pops by the Sea concert is scheduled for Sunday, August 5, 2007.

“TD Banknorth supports the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod’s year-round programming to sustain and promote the arts and culture of Cape Cod” said Margaret Van Sciver, board president of the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod. “The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod is the regional leader for Cape Cod’s creative economy, and we are proud to partner with TD Banknorth to provide a stable and significant source of funding for the AFCC’s year-round program of work.”

“Our partnership with the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod is a particularly rewarding one because of the breadth and depth of programming the AFCC offers across Cape Cod year-round” said Larry Squire, Co-Regional President for TD Banknorth on Cape Cod. “We are proud that our investment in the community will benefit Cape Cod residents and visitors through arts and culture for many years to come.”

TD Banknorth Inc. has $40 billion of total consolidated assets and is one of the 25 largest commercial banking organizations in the United States, and the largest retail and commercial banking company headquartered in New England.

The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod supports, promotes, and celebrates the arts and culture of Cape Cod by creating a strong, stable, and diverse arts environment, and contributing to the quality of life and economic vitality of the region.
