Call For Submissions -- Creative, Collaborative Projects on Cape Cod

Arts Foundation of Cape Cod to Celebrate Creative Community at New Conference

Centerville, MA, August 27, 2007 - The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod (AFCC), the designated local arts agency for Barnstable County, is pleased to announce that the 1st annual Creative Collaborative conference will take place at Cultural Center of Cape Cod on Thursday, November 1. The conference will celebrate the best of the creative community on Cape Cod through a series of presentations and performances throughout the day, culminating in a gala awards reception in the evening.

Visual and performing artists, artisans, cultural organizations, and all other creative sector professionals are invited to submit applications to present their recent creative, collaborative projects at this one-day regional conference. Presenters may submit either a presentation or table top display (a paper or a poster) for consideration. Projects submitted for presentation should be recent (within the last 12 months), relevant to the whole community, and collaborative in nature.

Nominations are now being accepted for awards in the categories of:
• Collaborative Project of the Year
• Arts Educator of the Year
• Community Leadership in Support of the Arts
• Lifetime Achievement Award

“This year’s conference is designed to celebrate what works in the creative community of Cape Cod,“ said Lisa Hergenrother, Executive Director of the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod. “We invite artists of all disciplines and representatives from all types of cultural organizations to share with us their success stories and triumphs, and to help us recognize the individuals who make it all happen in our community.”
