Arts Foundation of Cape Cod Presents the 1st Annual Creative Collaborative
Grassroots Conference to Present the Year’s Highlights in Arts & Culture Collaborations
Centerville, MA, October 10, 2007 - The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod, the designated local arts agency for Barnstable County, will present the 1st annual Creative Collaborative conference at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod on Thursday, November 1 from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm. All are welcome to register and attend this unique conference, designed and presented by the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod as an annual review of the best projects of 2007 in the cultural community.
The conference will celebrate the best of the arts and culture on Cape Cod through a series of presentations, displays, and activities from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm on November 1, culminating in a gala awards reception from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and wrapping up with a festive VIP dinner at Ardeo Restaurant in Yarmouth. Visual and performing artists, artisans, cultural organizations, and other creative sector professionals will present the results of their recent collaborative projects at this one-day regional conference.
“The Creative Collaborative is designed to shine a spotlight on what works in the creative community of Cape Cod,“ said Lisa Hergenrother, Executive Director of the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod. “We invite everyone who loves the arts and culture of Cape Cod to come enjoy a day of celebrating our vibrant arts community, and to help us recognize the individuals who make it all happen.”
Featured presenters at the conference include: Jay Critchley, the Harwich Junior Theatre, the Provincetown Art Association and Museum, the Cape Cod Museum of Art, Cape Cod Opera, Cape Cod Art Association, Cape Cod Writers’ Center, The Cape Cod Lighthouse Charter School, Chatham Chorale, The Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce, Breakdown Lane, LIFE, Inc., the Cotuit Center for the Arts, the Hyannis Main Street BID, The Guild of Fine Glass Artists, The Living Arts Institute, the Town of Barnstable, and, in a special plenary session on Goal Achievement Through Collaboration, THRIVE, with Jim Hill and Matt Poepsel.
Four new annual awards will be presented by the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod, in the categories of:
• Collaborative Project of the Year
• Arts Educator of the Year
• Community Leadership in Support of the Arts
• Lifetime Achievement Award
