Centerville, MA, April 2, 2007 - The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod announced today that Fred Inkley, Cape Cod native and Broadway veteran, will return this year to sing the Star-Spangled Banner with the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra to open the 22nd Annual TD Banknorth Pops by the Sea concert. The Pops by the Sea concert on Sunday, August 5, marks the only Cape Cod appearance of the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra with conductor Keith Lockhart.

"I am delighted to return to Cape Cod this year for the Pops by the Sea concert,” said Mr. Inkley. “It is always an honor to sing the National Anthem, and a distinct privilege to do so under the direction of Keith Lockhart."

"The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod is thrilled to welcome native son Fred Inkley back to the Pops by the Sea stage,” said Maggie Van Sciver, Board President of the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod. “Cape Cod continues to produce the very finest performing artists, and Fred is a brilliant example and inspiration to the region’s young and emerging performers.”

Fred Inkley has an impressive record of Broadway and national tour credits, including Valjean in Les Miserables, Beast in Beauty and the Beast, and Porthos in The Three Musketeers. A classically trained singer, Fred has performed across the country with various symphonies as a concert soloist, and has recently finished a reading/workshop of a new musical production of Tom Jones. He currently resides in New Jersey with his wife and three children.
