Larry Squire Named Honorary Chair of 22nd Annual TD Banknorth Pops by the Sea
Centerville, MA, May 17, 2007 - The Hyannis Area Chamber of Commerce and the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod are pleased to announce that Larry Squire, Regional Co-President for TD Banknorth on Cape Cod, has been named Honorary Chair of the 22nd Annual TD Banknorth Pops by the Sea concert. The annual concert features the only Cape Cod appearance of the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra and conductor Keith Lockhart.
“As the founding organization of Pops by the Sea, it has been our privilege and pleasure each year to select an Honorary Chair to join the Arts Foundation’s Celebrity Guest Conductor as co-host of the event,” said Monica Parker, Executive Director of the Hyannis Area Chamber of Commerce. “Larry really walks the walk of community involvement. You can always depend on his smile, good humor, and hard work. He is such an asset to the Hyannis community and we are thrilled to be able to honor him in this way.”
“Larry is a dynamite selection for the 2007 Honorary Chair. Behind the scenes, he has contributed significantly to this event’s growth and has championed the importance of the creative economy on Cape Cod,” said Maggie Van Sciver, Board President of the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod. “He has also been an active and valuable member of the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod’s leadership and we are thrilled to add Larry to the roster of accomplished Pops by the Sea honorary chairpersons.”
Larry Squire has served on the Board of Directors of the Cape Cod Community College Educational Foundation for over 10 years, having previously served as Treasurer, and is currently on Executive Committee. He volunteers for many nonprofit events, including the Special Olympics, Relay for Life, United Way Day of Caring, and others. Larry is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod and serves on the Pops by the Sea Steering Committee and its Executive Committee.
Mr. Squire is Regional Co-President of TD Banknorth Massachusetts. He is responsible for the Cape Cod market from Plymouth to Provincetown, encompassing a 24-branch operation with about 200 employees. He started his banking career at Cape Cod Bank & Trust over 35 years ago. Now he provides overall management of Retail Banking out of their Hyannis office.
