Fall for the Arts: A New Regional Arts Festival Launches in 2008
Two-Day Festival Highlights the Arts & Culture of Cape Cod
Centerville, MA, November 12, 2007 - The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod and Cape Cod VIEW magazine are proud to announce that the 1st Annual Fall for the Arts Festival will be celebrated on the weekend of October 4 - 5, 2008, in Falmouth, Dennis and Hyannis. These three communities will inaugurate a new regional arts festival on Cape Cod.
The Fall for the Arts Festival will feature family-friendly performances and exhibitions showcasing the region’s exciting cultural scene, offering visitors and residents the opportunity to meet and talk with exhibiting artists, sample fine cuisine, enjoy live entertainment, discover cultural organizations, take a walk through history and even create their own works of art.
“Fall for the Arts will showcase what is unique about each town, presenting each community’s own individual flavor,” said Lisa Hergenrother, Executive Director of the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod. “This weekend festival is sure to become Cape Cod’s premier autumn cultural event. “
For one weekend in fall 2008, the cultural community of Cape Cod will gather in Falmouth, Hyannis and Dennis to present a broad menu of performances and events to celebrate what is unique about each community. Steering committees in each town will work with the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod and Cape Cod View to develop a program of cultural activities that will span disciplines and delight all age groups.
“Cape Cod VIEW is delighted to be a partner with the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod in developing a new regional cultural event that reflects the character of our towns and villages,” said Debbie Forman, Editor in Chief of Cape Cod VIEW. “Cape Cod has been attracting artists, writers, musicians and theater people for more than a century. Its art centers, museums, galleries and theaters offer a rich array of cultural experiences. Sure, we’ve got great beaches and fabulous views, all that sun and fun, but there’s a vast array of talent and the Fall for the Arts Festival will be an opportunity to showcase those creative endeavors on a beautiful fall weekend.”
Specific festival events and ticketing information will be announced in upcoming months. For more information, or to get involved, contact the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod at 508-362-0066 x13 or email info@artsfoundation.org.
