Fred Inkley Named Pops by the Sea Anthem Soloist
Centerville, MA, April 10, 2006 - The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod (AFCC) announced today that Fred Inkley, Cape Cod native and Broadway veteran, will sing the Star-Spangled Banner with the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra to open the 21st Annual TD Banknorth Pops by the Sea concert. The Pops by the Sea concert on Sunday, August 6, marks the only Cape Cod appearance of the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra with conductor Keith Lockhart, and features celebrity guest conductor William Shatner.
Fred Inkley has an impressive record of Broadway and national tour credits, including Valjean in Les Miserables, Beast in Beauty and the Beast, and Porthos in The Three Musketeers. A classically trained singer, Fred has performed across the country with various symphonies as a concert soloist. Fred has also recently appeared in the Encores Series production Of Thee I Sing. He currently resides in New Jersey with his wife and three children.
"Having grown up on the Cape, I am delighted to be able to support the Cape arts community. It is always an honor to sing the National Anthem. It is a special privilege to do so under the direction of Keith Lockhart," said Fred Inkley.
"The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod is thrilled to welcome native son Fred Inkley to the Pops by the Sea stage,” said Maggie Van Sciver, Board President of the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod. “Cape Cod continues to produce the very finest performing artists, and Fred is a brilliant example and inspiration to the region’s young and emerging performers.”
