Arts Foundation of Cape Cod and Cape Cod Art Association

Centerville, MA, August 15, 2006 - The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod and the Cape Cod Art Association announced today that tickets are now available for a festive sunset cruise to benefit both organizations on Saturday, September 9. “This cruise will be a terrific opportunity for members of each organization to get to know each other, and to show support for the greater arts community of Cape Cod,” said Lisa Hergenrother, Executive Director of the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod. “It’s a chance to bring artists and arts supporters together for a great cause, and to celebrate the end of summer together.”

”It’s exciting to see two artist-based organizations come together for an evening of fun and socializing, while raising funds in support of arts programming on Cape Cod,” said Roberta Miller, Vice President of the Cape Cod Art Association Board of Directors. “It should be the first of many such occasions.”

The cruise will feature live music, door prizes, silent auction, and a cash bar, and will sail from Barnstable Harbor towards the Cape Cod Canal and back for a 3 ˝ hour tour. Boarding will begin at 5 pm on Saturday, September 9, and the ship will sail promptly at 5:30 pm. Tickets are $50 per passenger, and proceeds will benefit both organizations.

The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod is Barnstable County’s designated arts agency, and provides year-round programming in support of the arts and culture of Cape Cod through grants, professional development, education, and advocacy for artists and arts and culture organizations.

The Cape Cod Art Association is a non-profit organization continuously operating since its inception in 1948. It serves its members and community with a variety of fine art programs and events.
