
Arts Foundation of Cape Cod Presents Two New Short Courses
Local experts share marketing and technology tips for cultural professionals
Centerville, MA, February 14, 2007 - The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod will present two short courses this spring for artists and cultural organizations. Get the Word Out and Work Smarter, Not Harder will be presented Wednesday evenings in March and April from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod in Centerville.
Get the Word Out, targeted at both artists and cultural organizations, will focus on how to succeed at getting press coverage for events and announcements. Get the Word Out will be offered Wednesday evenings in March from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. The session topics will include:
o Press Photography, presented March 7 by local commercial and editorial photographer Jay Elliott;
o Writing Press Releases That Work, presented March 14 by Wellfleet artist and PR consultant Rick Fleury; and
o Media Management, presented March 21 by Cape Cod Times Managing News Editor Gene Williams;
o Tell Your Story: Speaking to the Press, presented March 28 by Boston artist and arts marketing consultant Jessica Burko.
Work Smarter, Not Harder, targeted specifically at cultural organizations, will focus on using your human and technological resources to your best advantage. Work Smarter, Not Harder will be offered Wednesday evenings in April from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Session topics will include:
o Making the Most of the Board You Have, presented April 4 by Claire Goyer, Executive Director of Duffy Health Center;
o Direct Mail: Alive and Well! presented April 11 by Erica Waasdorp, founder and CEO of A Direct Solution;
o Making Your Technology Work For You, presented April 18 by June Bertucci, founder and CEO of Small Office Support of Cape Cod and;
o Grant Writing and Research, presented April 25 by Alice Boyd, owner of Bailey Boyd Associates.
Class size is limited, so advance registration is strongly encouraged. Admission can be purchased to individual workshops for $35 each ($30 AFCC members), or by the course at four workshops for $125 ($100 AFCC members). All workshops will be held at the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod in Centerville. Light refreshments will be served.
