Meetings are free and open to artists working in all disciplines (Visual, Dance, Music, Literary, Theater, etc.) and to interested members of the community. The Brewster meeting will be on Tuesday, October 23 at 6:30 pm in the Brewster Ladies’ Library at 1822 Main Street, Brewster; the Falmouth meeting will be on Wednesday, October 24 at 6:30 pm at Highfield Hall, 56 Highfield Road, Falmouth; and the Hyannis area meeting will be on Thursday, October 25 at 6:30 pm at the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod office, 3 Shootflying Hill Road, Centerville.
The discussion at each meeting will cover the recent Consignment of Fine Art law, which affects how artists and galleries do business, and which now serves as a national model for future legislation. Recent changes to the Massachusetts Health Care Reform Law will be discussed, including what new responsibilities individuals have, and what new health care programs and services have been created as a result of the new law.
Attendees will also learn about key pieces of State legislation that have been filed to help artists working in all disciplines, as well as other pieces of State legislation and initiatives that are important for artists to be aware of, and the importance of turning artists into citizen artists. Participants are urged to bring paper and pens as well as business cards for networking after the meeting.
